Things To Do in Tampa, FL

Tampa Riverwalk

Tampa Riverwalk is a 2.6-mile walk along the Hillsborough River. You can take a leisure stroll and enjoy the views from the riverwalk or dine and shop along the way. The Tampa Riverwalk also hosts events throughout the year, but the holiday season holds some of the best.

>>Holiday Spectacular takes place from late November through the new year. During this event, the Riverwalk is covered in twinkling lights and holiday decorations. There’s even a 35’ LED lighted Christmas tree floating in the harbor.
>>The Riverwalk Holiday Hunt is a free scavenger hunt that uses an app on your phone. Simply download the Mobile Adventures app on your Apple or Android device to participate. You’ll solve puzzles, answer Tampa trivia and complete holiday-themed challenges
>>Don’t miss the Holiday Lighted Boat Parade on the Saturday before Christmas starting at 6:00 p.m. The parade route will pass by the entire Tampa Riverwalk, so anywhere is a great viewing location for parade-goers. Head to Sparkman Wharf at the end of the parade to see who will win this year’s prize.

If you’re looking for a breathtaking historical landmark to visit, head over to the Tampa Theatre. Admission into the park is $6 per vehicle, but once in the park, the sky’s the limit. Partake in activities like kayaking, fishing, hiking, geo-seeking, bicycling or a good old-fashioned picnic.

Things To Do in Miami, FL

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is a stunning building with an even more stunning view of the waterway. You can tour the museum house and its collection of art or explore the 10-acres of gorgeous gardens. Open Wednesday – Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission into the museum is $22 for adults and $16 for seniors 65 and older.

To celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, Vizcaya Late will host Holiday Evenings on Dec. 1st and 16th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. These special events will feature historically-accurate Christmas decor in the main house and brilliantly-lit gardens around the grounds. If you plan to be on an extended stay in Miami after the new year, consider attending the 45th Annual Art Deco Weekend on Jan. 14th – 16th. This event was created as an effort to preserve and protect the art deco buildings found in South Beach while celebrating the rich history of the area. This three-day festival features numerous events including an antique car show, merchandise street fair, retro fashion show, live jazz music, big band entertainment and much more.
