History buffs will love the Bullock Texas State History Museum as it tells the continuing “Story of Texas.” The permanent exhibits at this museum are rich in history and culture. Bullock Texas State History Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Tickets are $13 for adults and $9 for children, be sure to reserve in advance!
McKinney Falls State Park is the perfect place to take in some fresh air, get your body moving, and explore nature. You can participate in a variety of park activities like hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and picnicking. Admission into the park is $6 per adult, children 12 and under are free. McKinney Falls is open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum is a stunning facility dedicated to the arts and the life work of Charles Umlauf. Admission into the museum is $7 per adult and $1 for children 13-17. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Saturday through Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM.
The Cathedral of Junk is a unique little spot that is made from over 60 tons of junk! This gem is definitely part of what keeps Austin weird. Stop by to take a picture and see it for yourself, located at 4422 Lareina Drive.
Barton Creek Greenbelt has over 12 miles of trails, a beautiful creek to wade in, and is the perfect way to spend a cool day in Austin while on a budget!
